Social Distancing, Not Self-Distancing

From a metaphysical perspective, COVID is an organic virus that’s here to invade our global collective conscience, not just our bodies. Never before has all of humanity been faced with the same adversary. A global threat has long been fictionalized, placed into our collective unconscious from the fantastical imaginings of Hollywood executives, sci-fi authors and comic book creators, but never before has it entered the realm of reality. Facing a universal threat has the potential to unite, if we make the choice to view it from this perspective.

This is a time of collective transition for the Earth and for all of her inhabitants, all of us. Undoubtedly, there are universal forces working through Earth at this time, taking on the physical form of a virus, collectively calling us to go inwards, with the ultimate soul/sole purpose of waking us up to the fact that we create our own reality. We are now facing a predicament together that calls for us to comprehend and live the mystical law of co-creation as a living, breathing, organic unified being.  We really do create our own reality - our emotions are energy, our thoughts affect matter and our words expressed ‘stick to the walls and the furniture’, as Maya Angelou once wisely said. Yes, we create our own reality, but we also influence each other’s reality. And just like the virus, co-creation is a collective enterprise. And that is what we are being collectively called to awaken to during the turbulent cycle of chaos we find ourselves.

We are being shown through this cycle of global chaos the chaos that we hold within on an individual level. Here we see another Mystical Law playing out, as above so below, as below so above. In other words, in order to harmonize the outer world, we must first harmonize our inner world. We must strive to become congruent. Meaning, to align our thoughts and words and actions with our values, beliefs and principles. To make what’s inside match up with the outside. Congruence can only be achieved by first taking stock and becoming aware or conscious of our inner world. Hence the virus demanding us to quarantine ourselves inside, without the external distractions we are all accustom to. Will we dare to look inwards? Will we choose to face the internal chaos and clutter? Or will we choose to focus solely on the external chaos and clutter that is so temptingly distractible. My urging is that you go inwards. Here is a good place to start.

  • Get to know your thoughts. Observe them. Who or what are they about? Do different ones flow in and out or does one thought seem to repeat endlessly on loop? Do they tend to focus on the past, the present or the future? What proportion are your thoughts on your inner life vs your external life? Are they about you or someone or something else? Are they positive or negative?

  • Feel your emotions as they arise in you. Where do you feel them in your body? Do they move around or do they tend to stick to one area of your body? Do they feel low and slow or high and fast? How reactive are they to another’s emotions?

  • Take a look at your actions. Do you ‘do’ with intention? What is the proportion of your actions that serve yourself vs serve others? Are they balanced in giving and receiving? What are the rhythms of your days and weeks, are they honouring to your natural rhythms or do they go against them?

It's crucial to understand that this is not about right or wrong. It’s not about arriving, it’s about striving. It’s not about perfection, but evolution. It’s about becoming aware of what is no longer serving you and letting it go. Acknowledging the chaos within and without and allowing it to exist without being tossed about by it like a boat on the water without a paddle. Our minds are our paddles, our bodies are the boat and the waters are the external circumstances we find ourselves in, currently swirling in chaos from the storms.

The ancient Greeks understood this and would welcome chaos, knowing that only through chaos can something new ever be created.  Isn't that what miracles are? Miracles don't ever come from what you know, they come from what you don't know, they are shifts in perspective, arising from the mysterious and mystical forces of the divine.

So, let's all take a collective breath. Use this time to go inwards. To be grateful for what we have and who we have to share it with. And realize that the inner state we create for ourselves now, amidst this cycle of chaos, truly holds the potential for miracles from the realms of the divine that could soon be showered down upon the earth. This organic virus could very well be the precursor of something new in our collective potential being born. Without a massive, disruptive, disorganizing cycle hitting earth's holographic field, we would not be holding this massive potential for wondrous change. It is up to each of us to strive for congruence, in a collective effort to bring these positive potentials to reality.

Love,

M xo
